It is always an interesting challenge to make new construction home look as though it is has perched there for a century. Here in beautiful Colts Neck, NJ, we helped our clients build a new home that had the architectural integrity of an old estate. The goal was to create a look, both inside and out, that was Mediterranean but that did not feel "themed." Every material in this house was carefully selected to stay on track with this goal, from roofing tiles, to bathroom tiles (which we imported from Thailand for our clients to bring and old world flair while keeping an eye on the budget). We designed the Foyer paneling and Great Room built in to reflect Old World Woodworking, and had such a great time filling their home with furnishings and treasures that reflects our clients spirits. One special piece of art to our clients was an antique plaster relic we found from an old church that we hung in the kitchen. Art means so much more when it has soulful meaning to our clients and makes designing such a true joy.
